As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Mendoza treats children and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and other conditions. She provides individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults in both English and Spanish, approaching therapy from a cognitive-behavioral standpoint – helping patients understand themselves better.
She also conducts psychological testing/evaluations for educational placement (gifted/intelligence, learning disorders) and emotional/behavioral functioning.
Dr. Mendoza frequently explores reasons behind self-defeating patterns, difficulties in relationships, anxiety, troublesome moods, and concerns about work motivation and creativity. She then helps her patients learn new strategies to overcome their difficulties. Contrary to popular belief, a psychologist will not give you advice or tell you what to do, rather she will help you find the best solution for your particular situation. When working with children, she also helps parents with parenting strategies and techniques to help their children at home.
Dr. Mendoza accepts payment for psychotherapy through some major insurance carriers as well as self-pay.
